Overview

I am Marie-Elise, an independent researcher, author and cultural mediation designer.

Through 742, I explore contemporary cultural, technological and territorial transformations, combining documentary research, fieldwork, experimentation and creative practice.

My work takes different forms – research programmes, publications, field investigations, audiovisual projects and cultural mediation tools – with a common objective:

making complex or emerging phenomena easier to understand, explore and discuss.

Current research : Solarpunk (2026)

My current research explores Solarpunk as a practical field of experimentation rather than solely as a fictional or aesthetic movement.

It examines what happens when imaginaries of desirable futures become concrete practices: autonomy, cooperation, low-tech approaches, knowledge sharing and alternative ways of inhabiting territories.

Through fieldwork, encounters, experiments and cultural mediation projects, I investigate how desirable futures can be built from resources, places and communities that already exist.

Research practice

  Exploring, connecting and structuring. I investigate subjects that remain fragmented, emerging or difficult to interpret, bringing together different sources, disciplines and perspectives.
• Narratives & content
  Turning research into narratives. I develop editorial, audiovisual and hybrid formats that make complex subjects tangible and accessible.
  
• Cultural mediation & experimental formats
  Designing ways to enter, manipulate and experience a subject. My work includes workshops, cartographies, publications, field-based projects and experimental mediation devices.

A project at the intersection of heritage and generative technologies, exploring how artificial intelligence interprets and reconfigures territories and the collective imaginaries attached to them.

Research and experimentation around third places and community spaces, investigating how people collectively appropriate places, create new uses and develop forms of cooperation and autonomy.
